It’s been busy with the Spider’s Web publishing last Friday, November 30, 2018. I did a pre-publication signed copy giveaway on Goodreads.com which drew 1013 entrants. I was very excited about the turnout. I also started a Blog tour right before the book dropped. I am hoping the social media presence will help drive sales. It is frustrating sometimes as an indie author to market your book. Social media is the best platform but you don’t want to inundate people with your books. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them!
Trying something new with WIP. I’ve never written in first person before. I am trying to write a multi-generational book with three different viewpoints, all in first person, alternating through paragraphs. It is a lot harder than I thought. I am getting discouraged. I am going to give it to the end of December and then go back to my normal POV. Is that a cop out?
So the holiday is over, decorations are down, kids are back to school and I am still struggling to get back in my writing habit. I’m still working on my WIP but not at my usual pace. I always organize the story and characters in my head first so I consider that progress. Trying to keep to my April 13th deadline when I attend a writer’s conference and have appointments with two agents. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I love being an indie author but with college tuition, it is not easy. Does anyone have marketing ideas they use as indie authors? It would be great to hear what you think.
